Learn about the huipil (we-peel) and why we love it ♡

My love affair for huipiles started from when I was a child in Mexico. Seeing my mom wear these colorful blouses she was so fond of made me fall in love with their story.
⠀
When I started traveling on my own, I began to learn about their origins and their history. I was hooked!⠀
⠀
Known for its intricate patterns, uniqueness and vibrant colors, the huipil (pronounced wee-peel) is an embroidered blouse worn by indigenous women in Mexico and Guatemala. Each one can take anywhere from one to six months to complete and tells a story tradition, beliefs, family history and so much more. ⠀
⠀
We repurpose huipiles into #oneofakind bags and pillows to create unique items that can't ever be replicated. ⠀
