What Does Lumily Mean?

Have you ever wondered what the name Lumily means? Lumily is a combination of two words: “Lum” which means world in Tzotzil, a dialect of Mayan language, and “ily” which means family. The name reflects our belief that the world is one family, and when we support each other, regardless of where we live or who we are, we are supporting our global family.

In 2009, Lumily was founded with a simple yet powerful idea - that business can create social change one product at a time. We started by working with one small family in Guatemala, and we have since grown to partner with over 200 women artisans from around the world, each with a compelling story and unique gifts. Most of our artisans learned their craft from their mothers and grandmothers, and they ensure their traditions continue to thrive.

By supporting Lumily, you can join our #goodfashiongoodkarma movement and be part of our global family. Every purchase you make creates opportunities for our artisans, helping them provide for their families, and preserving their cultural heritage. You can also follow us on social media and share our posts with your friends to help spread the word and grow our community.

Thank you for being part of our online family and for supporting our mission of creating a more sustainable and equitable world. One world, one family, Lumily. #goodfashiongoodkarma
