How VinLoom came to Lumily
Some things just make sense.
Long before VinLoom became part of Lumily, there was a friendship. Our founder, Giovanna, has known Lori and Andy of Shupaca for years. They started their fair trade businesses around the same time and spent nearly two decades watching each other grow, change and navigate the very real ups and downs of small-business life.
When their business evolved, Lori and Andy needed to find the right home for a longtime artisan relationship in Peru. They came to Lumily because they knew how we've built our artisan partnerships, and we knew how deeply they cared about the women behind VinLoom.
What mattered wasn't simply finding someone to sell the textiles. It was knowing the relationship would be treated with the same care as the products themselves. That's the kind of responsibility we take seriously, and why VinLoom felt like such a natural next chapter for Lumily.

A note from our founder
And for our founder, this one is personal.
My parents and grandparents are from Peru. I still have family there, and my Peruvian heritage has always been an important part of who I am. It's a connection to people, places and traditions that has stayed with me no matter where life has taken me.
For 17 years, I've built Lumily around long-term relationships with artisans and the belief that beautiful, handmade things mean more when you know the people behind them. I never imagined I'd get to continue that work in Peru, a place with such a personal meaning for my family.
I'm looking forward to getting to know the women behind VinLoom more deeply, listening to their stories and growing this relationship with the same care we've brought to Lumily since the beginning. I couldn't have planned this connection if I tried. It just feels right.

Women artisans in Peru
VinLoom works with a community of 300 women artisans who create the textiles behind the collection. Their work draws on techniques and knowledge passed through generations, bringing traditional craftsmanship into homes in a way that still feels fresh and relevant today.
Many pieces are one of a kind, and every pillow, rug, coaster and stocking has something that a mass-produced product can't replicate: the marks of the hands that made it. For Lumily, celebrating that skill is every bit as important as sharing the finished collection.
The process

It's the details you notice when you slow down and really look. A variation in the weave, the texture of the wool, a combination of colors you wouldn't have thought to put together. Those details are part of what makes handmade textiles so worth living with.
